Helps Educate Women on the Financial World
Financial planner Candace Bahr has been named one of the top 10 “Most Outstanding Brokers” in the country by Registered Rep., a national financial trade publication.
The magazine article on the choices said the brokers it picked “are adding new clients, showing positive returns and generating healthy fees and commissions … they avoid the temptation of the quick kill and, perhaps most important, they have developed a winning strategy for their business and have the discipline to stick with it.”
Bahr owns Bahr Investment Group and has lived in Carlsbad since 1989. She specializes in advising single women, usually widowed or divorced. These make up about 70 percent of: her clientele.
In keeping with that emphasis, Bahr has long volunteered her time to help educate women on the financial world. So she co-founded a non-profit Web site, Women’s Institute for Financial Education, with Ginita Wall. The site is on the Web at WIFE.org
“I realized they needed assistance not only in working through their emotional needs, also, many were managing their money for the first time,” Bahr said. “They were trying to understand the financial world and needed help.”
Bahr holds monthly educational workshops for clients on various financial topics. She has also offered financial advice for a number of years on KDCI, a cable channel on Adelphia Communications.
Bahr’s volunteer activities include the MiraCosta College Foundation, and she is past president of the women’s advisory committee at Mira Costa College.
